An Australian agency says it will grant disgraced South Korean scientist Hwang Woo-suk a patent for his disputed technology for cloning human embryos.

Sept. 22 (Bloomberg) — 3Com Corp. , the networking- equipment maker, reported its first quarterly profit since 2000, buoyed by a patent settlement and sales in China. The results topped estimates, sending the shares higher in extended trading.
