A U.S. appeals court sided with Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia (NOK1V.HE) on Wednesday, upholding a lower court’s finding that a Golden Bridge Technology cell phone patent was invalid.

VRNT: Jury Awards $3.3M to Company in Patent Infringement Case vs Nice Systems (Nasdaq)
Verint Systems Inc. (VRNT) announced that the jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia ruled unanimously in favor of Verint in a patent infringement lawsuit brought by Verint against Nice Systems, awarding Verint more than $3.3 million in damages.

May 15 (Bloomberg) — Nintendo Co. , the world’s biggest maker of handheld game machines, was told by a federal jury to pay $21 million to a Texas company for infringing a patent used in the Wii and GameCube systems.
