U.S. Patent Office Rejects Patents On Gilead’s Antiretroviral Viread (Medical News Today)
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday rejected four patents on Gilead Sciences’ antiretroviral drug Viread, Reuters reports. Viread is known generically as tenofovir and is sold as part of Gilead’s combination therapies Truvada and Atripla.

Whirlpool, LG Elec in patent row over refrigerators (Reuters via Yahoo! Malaysia News)
SEOUL, Jan 24 – Whirlpool Corp , the world’s top appliance maker, filed a patent infringement suit against LG Electronics Inc’s refrigerators sold in the United States as the two battle for the premium U.S. appliance market.
