Toshiba settles lawsuit over chip patent with former Japanese employee (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
TOKYO — Japanese electronics maker Toshiba Corp. settled a lawsuit Thursday over a flash memory chip patent claimed by a former employee, agreeing to pay him 87 million yen ($750,000).

LPL wins this round in patent lawsuit against CPT; CPT to appeal (Digi Times)
Although LG.Philips LCD (LPL) has won the initial trial of a LCD patent lawsuit in the US against Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), CPT said it will appeal for retrial, according to a CPT filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
