Cancer treatment patent amended (Contra Costa Times)
Fremont-based RITA Medical Systems Inc. (RITA), a maker of cancer therapies, was granted an amendment to a patent for radio frequency and microwave technology by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The technology is used to melt cancerous tissue. The patent was issued in 1997 and applied to adds claims.
