VANCOUVER (CP) – Shares in drug developer QLT Inc. (TSX:QLT) dropped almost five per cent early Monday in the first day of trading after it said a U.S. court has ruled against it in the latest round of a patent dispute.

WASHINGTON (CP) – The fate of the BlackBerry may be decided by a federal district judge now that the U.S. Supreme Court has chosen not to intervene in a patent dispute between NTP Inc. and Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM).
